Says a lot about America

Reporting on last night's broadcast television coverage of the election results, Alessandra Stanley notes:

All three networks stuck to their scheduled shows, even though none of them had anything remarkable to offer: NBC showed obese people climbing ropes on “The Biggest Loser” then a rerun of “Law & Order: SVU.” CBS held on to “Big Brother” and its low-rated drama “Jericho,” and on ABC even “Primetime,” which is part of the news division, stayed with a lurid hidden-camera show, “What Would You Do?”

Does just about anybody who wants cable TV now has it? Probably. And yes, there is also the Internet, for people like me who prefer a different form of idiot box. And of course, the radio.

Still.
