If you use Gmail and haven't yet taken advantage of a feature Google unveiled last week to prevent hackers from hijacking your inbox, now would be an excellent time to do that.

Krebs's post gets a little technical. The bottom line: visit the Settings on your Gmail account and check the box labeled "Always use https." (Get details on how to do this by following the above links.) This especially applies if you use like to use public Wi-Fi hotspots.
