Not that we actually expect Congress to DO anything ...

... but, just sayin:

The group that Pew finds most underrepresented on the Hill is those without a religious affiliation -- comprising 20 percent of the public and 0.2 percent of Congress.

Eh, what's two orders of magnitude of under-representation among friends? Have some pie.

Unrelated to your main point, but, look at how much Congress can do in just one day:

Don't underestimate the power of wingnutness!

Heh, yes. I was not really happy with my post title from the get-go, because I was all too aware of all of the bad things they're capable of doing and likely to do.

That's a good graphic.

Love the pie, Brendan.

They are doing something. They funded Homeland Security for a week. Guess it's good that we're safe from IS for another week.

Didn't notice you haven't been here in awhile. Guess I haven't either. Eh, it happens. Best to you.

Thanks, Kevin. Yeah, I'm in one of those periods where I just don't feel like I have anything to say. Or at least not to the world at large -- I've been satisfying my writing jones, to the extent that I have one, one on one, via email.

Also, the GOP and their base have managed to convinced me that I am a happier person if I don't follow politics day to day. All part of their devious plan, I know, but sometimes you gotta take care of yourself first.

How about you? What have you been up to lately?

Hey Brendan, good to know you're not buried under 8 foot of snow. I'm looking to open a microbakery at some point in the near to distant future. I'm wasting too much time online lately. The weather may have an effect on that. This Winter, I really wish I was 10 yrs old again.

I understand not looking at the slow-moving car crash we've become a part of. Mostly my blog is my journal and I'm kind of happy no one goes there. It's just for my bookmarks and I'm a hermit anyway. Definitely take care of yourself.

Did you switch your blog to invitation-only? Or are we talking about a different one from what's listed on your blogger profile?

I just use Hometown now. As far as I know, I haven't screwed up the settings on it. Reppy set AmNi to private, though, so we can secretly plot against DD. Actually, there's nothing going on there. Don't tell Donald, it increases his paranoia to have it sitting there inaccessible to him.

I don't post at wingnuts now either because I didn't feel right about besmirching Repsac's blog.

Anyway, don't feel obligated to stop by or anything. I'm like the opposite of a blogwhore whatever that would be. As I say, mostly just doing bookmarks for stuff I want to save.

The most important thing that particular Congress can do IS nothing. That is exactly what their corporate handlers expect of them.
