On the remaining days of the week I am instead confident that these economic changes are structural inevitabilities, mere details of the shift to an automated, digitalized, globally competitive post-industrial society, and have nothing much to do with either political party's braying and theatrics.<br /><br />In 1995 Jeremy Rifkin published <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_End_of_Work" rel="nofollow">The End of Work</a>, but few paid attention.
