It's not the medium. It's the message.

Buy this shirt! Wear it! Show your support for the cause!

Lettuce Praise

Nice breasts, covered by a lettuce bra(Embiggen. Naturally!)

Yep. Apparently, GoVeg.com is really a thing. (One more and it'll be a trend!) And so are the garments. Who says you can't learn new things by clicking Web ads?

(pic. source)

[Added] Idly clicking around at that p.s. link led me to something else, which will probably not please Prof. Tucker one bit.

Who is more annoying?

Tiger Mom or Octo Mom?

Does knowing that David Brooks is now writing about Tiger Mom change your mind? And what about this?

If anyone needs me, I'll be out buying a soldering iron

OMG this is so cool. "Illuminate Your Keyboard!"

(alt. video link)

One of the really nice aspects is the pacing. Note to other YouTubers in this genre: remember that we do have pause buttons, y'all. And replay, and all kinds of fancy stuff. [Added: which is how I now can smirk, "Reverse threaded screws?" right at the beginning. Blooper reel! Added2: Nope. Take it back. Just an illusion, I guess.]

I'm afraid (of the time loss) to look right now, but I'll have to remember to have a look at the YouTube channel Kipkay's Hacks, Pranks & How-to.

There is no question that this must be reblogged

Arnold, Wilt, and some other famous guy

Okay, so yeah. You're a political junkie and a sci-fi geek, so you got the guy on the left. And the guy on the right? Icon. But who is the third man? (And never tell him that looks like a Garanimals outfit. It would break his heart, even lo these many years later.)

Answer whence I stole this pic.

Finally! Help for those of us who write screeds on the Internet!

(Updated below)

Oh stop lying. You know you're as bad as me -- if you're not pounding on wingnuts in the Bloggingheads.tv forums, you're explaining at length to Donald Douglas why he is an idiot. Or writing a sternly-worded admonition to the guy currently posing as the WaPo's ombudsman. Or whatever. So you know that sick feeling of composing a lengthy masterpiece, only to have the site, or your connection, or your browser, or your computer, choke at exactly the wrong moment. And then where is your deathless prose? Gone, that's where.

But maybe that doesn't have to happen, ever again! (If you're using Firefox.)

Enter this add-on I just happened across, Lazarus: Form Recovery, which proclaims:

Never lose anything you type into a web form again! Lazarus securely auto-saves all forms as you type, so after a crash, server timeout, or whatever, you can go back to the form, right click, "recover form", and breathe a sigh of relief.

And at more length on its home page:

Ever had one of those “oh $*#@” moments when you've finally finished filling out a long form, and hit submit only to see an error message? And when you hit the back button, the form was blank... If so, you know you need Lazarus. And if not, you have a chance to install Lazarus before disaster strikes!

Using Lazarus, you can recover lost forms with a single click. Lazarus automagically encrypts and saves every form as you type. If the submission fails or if you forget to send it or your computer or browser crashes, then you can return to the page and recover the form data you originally entered.

Now works with WYSIWYG editors, Rich text boxes and AJAXified forms.

So far, all I can tell you is it installed from here without drama in the usual add an addon way. Under the principle (corollary to Murphy's Law) that if you bring an umbrella it never rains, I suspect that I will not have a browser crash while I am in the middle of typing away for at least the next six months, by which point I'll have long since forgotten that I installed this thing.

But who knows? Maybe you will give it a shot and it will save you some agita. Please let me know in the Comments or by email if it does. Or if it already has. Thanks! (Or, you're welcome!?)

Eponym reports in the Comments that he has done a little testing, and it appears to work as advertised.

Just ran a quick test of my own, and it also worked. See Comments.

Great Moments in Conservative Punditry

Just below a few posts alternately gushing about Tim Tebow and fuming about baby-killing liberals who kill babies, La Shawn Barber lets loose with this beginning (emph. orig.):

I rarely blog about celebrities because it seems so, you know, shallow.

I make an exception for right-leaning celebrities.

Don't anybody tell her "Johnny Ramone of The Ramones" has been dead for more than five years now, because the next biggest celebrity on her list is "Stephen Baldwin (brother of Alec)."

The Wingnut Perspective

What the Worldwatch Institute says:

Expanded Coalitions Support U.S. Climate Bill

In an effort to broaden support for sweeping climate legislation, environmentalists are forming atypical alliances with other progressive social organizations.

Groups such as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), MoveOn, and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) are part of a growing coalition of social welfare, labor, religious, and healthcare organizations joining forces with the traditional environmental lobby.

Farther down, other groups are listed, including Green For All, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, Planned Parenthood, the National Council of La Raza, Alliance for Climate Protection, the League of Conservation Voters, the Blue Green Alliance, Environment America, Greenpeace USA, Friends of the Earth, and the Rainforest Action Network.

What Matthew Vadum at the American Spectator hears:

ACORN Enters the Highly Lucrative Global Warming Hysteria Business

Now the ACORN crime family is jumping on the global warming alarmism bandwagon, according to (the left-leaning) Worldwatch Institute.

The radical community group, which is now facing voter registration fraud charges in Nevada, has joined forces with Al Gore and other groups for the ultimate taxpayer shakedown: carbon emission controls.

The upside to the death of however many brain cells this encounter with wingnuttery cost is that I now have my next band name: Al Gore and The ACORN Crime Family. Move over, Sly Stone!

How Does This Not Mean The Terrorists Win?

Lawlessness is apparently now the rule in the Green Mountain State:

Authorities in Burlington, Vermont will not pursue charges against the organizer of a pillow fight who'd been originally cited for disorderly conduct.

I blame gay marriage.

Because, really, who else would organize a pillow fight?

Wait. Organize ... community ... organize ... okay, maybe ACORN.

And certainly Obama is to blame, and why hasn't he fired Janet Napolitano yet?
