Yawn. And cackles.

So, one of the two least classiest people in the country is endorsing the other. #shockedshocked

I did enjoy this bit of damning with faint praise, though:

“Over the years Palin has actually cultivated a number of relationships in Iowa,” said Craig Robinson, the former political director of the Republican Party of Iowa and publisher of the website The Iowa Republican. “There are the Tea Party activists who still think she’s great and a breath of fresh air, but she also did a good job of courting Republican donors in the state,” he added.

"Has actually."

"Who still."

"But."

And when it comes to slimeweasels wielding shivs?

“Palin’s brand among evangelicals is as gold as the faucets in Trump Tower,” said Ralph Reed ...

Eh, who knows. Maybe that was meant as a sincere compliment.

To the extent that we can say "sincere" with a straight face when discussing this bunch, I mean.

So glad I'm not paying attention to politics anymore.

From the Department of Better You Than Me

Or, First Thing We Do, Let's Kill All The Lawyers, Chapter 4927.

But whatever the case, all hail condolences to Dan Amira of New York mag's Daily Intelligencer blog:

For religious conservatives, howling over the so-called "war on Christmas" has become an annual holiday tradition almost as enjoyable as Christmas itself. On Tuesday, Sarah Palin seeks to capitalize on the phenomenon with the release of her newest book, Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas. Daily Intelligencer purchased the Palin-narrated audiobook from a local bookstore, where it was on sale early, and listened to all four-and-a-half hours, which is technically not a violation of the Geneva Convention if you're getting paid to do it, New York's legal team insists.

At the link is a Christmas tree, whose ornaments are themselves links to "some of the book's more memorable lines."

I myself have clicked none of them. Self-loathing only goes so far.

Don't retreat! Reload!

BREAKING:

Giacinto “Gino” Paoletti is Bristol Palin's new boyfriend.

Not only that, but Gino, a former high school classmate, is the ex of Levi Johnston's sister, Mercede Johnston! [...]

"She may have everyone else fooled, but Bristol gets around," Mercede told Star in an exclusive interview …

Bristol is apparently living with this new BF, which is being spun by Palin defenders as a "trial marriage." And don't go yelling Hypocrite! the next time Bristol takes money to give some canned speech on abstinence, because according to Elisabeth Hasselbeck (aka the only woman in America too dumb to get the middle spot on the couch on Fox & Friends), these two youngsters will live together AND remain celibate, and there is such a thing as "born-again virginity," also.

Remember when The Pantload and The Steyn said this?

Thanks to a spam commenter, I had my attention drawn to something I noted right after the previous presidential election. It is reproduced below for your enjoyment.

Doughy (For the Record)

Prediction   [Jonah Goldberg]

Now that McCain has lost, and Sarah Palin has time to reintroduce herself down the road, the anti-Palin conservatives will almost surely look foolish in retrospect.

Foolish is as foolish does. We'll be watching, Mr. Pantload.

And you, too, Mark Steyn:

As for us losers, there's no point going down the right-wing version of Bush Derangement Syndrome. Any shrill vicious ad hominem invective would be much better directed at each other.

More leaks from with the Palin camp mean more dish!

Apparently, someone sent The Daily Caller a bunch of Twitter Direct Messages that were originally sent by Rebecca Mansour, one of Sarah Palin's top aides.

The biggest buzz is Mansour's dissing of Bristol, but I like this nugget:

Red State Editor-in-Chief and CNN contributor Erick Erickson is “a total douchebag,” wrote Palin speechwriter and domestic policy adviser Rebecca Mansour in a May 22, 2010, message. “Greasy dumb ass with a talent for self-promotion. He threw himself in at the Gov’s SC rally. Self-promotion.”

While looking for something else, I came across an old note to self. I thought you might enjoy it. The date of the original post was 4 Nov 2008.

Further Proof of Better Living Through Unprotected Sex

In news that will come as a shock to almost no one, ...

Multimillionaire who attended multiple colleges beloved by poor and uneducated

According to Gallup, Sarah Palin is favored to be the 2012 Republican nominee for president by nearly twice as many Republicans who do not have a college degree as she is by those who do (16%-9%). Breaking things down economically, she does best with those earning less than $24,000/year, and progressively worse with each income group up the ladder (22%, 16%, 11%, 7%).

What about Romney?

Exactly the opposite. If you're a Republican, you're more likely to prefer him if you have a college degree, and the more money you have, the better you like him.

ELITISTS.

If you listen closely, you can hear a foot stomping on a porch in Alaska ...

... from which He®self may or may not be able to see Russia, but she certainly can see one thing: plummeting media interest!

Nate 538 Silver (via Ken Layne), in a post about the fluctuating attention being drawn by all the great GOP candidates for preznit, reports (emph. added):

In contrast to four years ago, however, when the relative amount of media coverage was fairly steady throughout the campaign, there have already been some dramatic shifts this year. Sarah Palin’s potential candidacy, for instance, is only receiving about one-fifth as much attention as it did several months ago.

[...]

During the month of November 2010, Ms. Palin’s name retrieved 777 hits, according to this technique. That represented just over half of the 1,533 citations for all 23 candidates combined.

So far this month, however, Ms. Palin has accounted for just 124 hits out of 1,090 total, or roughly 11 percent. [...]

[...]

The decline in media coverage for Ms. Palin tracks with a decline in her polling numbers. Whereas she was pulling between 15 and 20 percent of the Republican primary vote in polls conducted several months ago, she’s down to about 10 percent in most surveys now.

On a closely related note, it appears panic is spreading to the staff (via TBogg):

Team Palin Demands The Media Give Them Something To Complain About

Hey, check out the big self-awareness of Breitbart

Or not.

"I'm serious!" he screamed. "Go to hell! You're trying to divide America!"

In his defense, he was yelling at a big crowd of NotRealAmericans, by the lights of him and the guest of hono®.

When life gives you lemons, make sour grapes

Important conservative pundit Andrew Breitbart has echoed a new line of patter first put forth by ex-important conservative pundit Ann Coulter several months ago: concerning He®self's aspirations for having her tweets geotagged 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, the preznincy is "beneath her." Coulter had said it would be "a step down for her."

This is not an Onion link.
