Well, metaphorically. And not by name. And in a sloppy reading monotone kind of way. And, as Rebecca Schoenkopf notes, this, sadly, amounts lately to "one of his biannual decency jags."
But still, he deserves props for doing it. It's not like anyone else in his party would, after all. So take a few minutes to listen.

Michele Bachmann Is Completely Unaware That China Is Communist
Actually, it's the last sentence that's the most troubling.
I had to stop reading Kevin Drum's "Tonight's Debate Highlights" when I came across this:

Apparently, all of Michele Bachmann's paid New Hampshire campaign staffers have quit. Go Lexington! On Concord! (?)
While looking for news of that after seeing it mentioned on Twitter, I came across an even more delicious headline:

Hilariously, the lede for everyone else reporting on this event was how sparse the crowd was. Including a local Fox affiliate.

Okay, other shoe, time to drop:
Not attending, and : Head of the Congressional tea party caucus, Rep. Michele Bachmann.
There's some babble from some spokesdrone later on in the post about how Bachmann wasn't a "serious" candidate back when they drew up the invitation list, but I'm not buying it. First, it's been obvious that Bachmann has been considering a run for many months, arguably since Obama's inauguration. At minimum, they could have put a placeholder in with her name on it and passed the word through back channels. Especially considering invitees like Santorum, Barbour, and Thune. Also, if they wanted her to be a candidate, I have to think that they'd believe their very invitation would encourage her to jump more fully in.
SOME might speculate that the real reason for the snub is that Sarah Palin told them she wouldn't show up if Bachmann did. Or, maybe we've just reach a moment of truth: Michele Bachmann is just considered too crazy, even for other crazy people to want around.

On a day when crowd estimates could provide their respective groups with political clout, Bachmann asked her audience how many thought more than 1 million people were in attendance. The question was met by big cheers from the gathering of about 1,000. "We're not going let anyone get away with saying there were less than a million here today because we were witnesses," Bachmann said.
