No, not that magazine. I'm speaking of words to live by.

I just came up with a new one:

Never read a newspaper that uses fume as a verb.

I'm adding this to my collection:

• Never eat at a restaurant named Mom's.
• Never play cards with a man named Doc.
• Never invest in anything that needs feeding or painting. (Red Smith, I think)
