I was going to make a sex joke about Newt Gingrich and Alabama ...

... but then the section underneath it left me laughing even harder. Or crying. One of those.

Andrew Sullivan has been tracking this -- the black vote (and other minority votes -- in GOP primaries all season, and it turns out that the 2% is Alabama is much higher (like, 100% higher) than the black vote in most of the other states. The norm has been 0%-1%.

That's the modern GOP. And it's our country.

Oh, did I say "modern" GOP? I meant "GOP since 1964." I guess that's "modern" by some definition of modern.
