If you thought Saul Steinberg's View of the World from 9th Avenue …
… was not so much humorous as just plain sensible, then you're gonna love Harold Cooper's ExtendNY.com.
What's it all about? Here's a hint: Two of my favorite structures are at 4724th Avenue and S 9666th Street, and at E 12,928 Avenue and 63,975th Street.

Wow, that is an interesting map!
It is, isn't it? I still haven't sussed out how the lines curve yet, being as I am fairly unskilled at visualizing things in 3-D. Really cool to go over to Uzbekistan, where, apparently, all roads lead, and zoom in a little.
Wonder what would happen if they made E 78,418 Ave and 126,967 St the new origin. Would all roads then lead to NYC, do you think?

Is that Uzbekistan? I guess Uzbekistan is on the same (opposite) meridian (Avenue) as NYC, and same latitude (street) in the Northern hemisphere. Other than that, I have no idea. If you had a city exactly there with a street grid oriented exactly as NYC's, then I guess you would have that result. No?
Uhhhh ... sounds good to me!
Come visit us sometime, corner of 2,974th Ave. and S. 6,784th St. More or less.
I didn't realize you lived that close to Wyoming!
;)
One time I fell asleep while riding in a car -- in the passenger seat, mind you -- and woke up and saw "Wyoming, next exit" flash overhead in a green and white blur. Made me wonder if I was recapitulating Rip Van Winkle. But no.
Who knew there were so many of those?
AND WHAT IF EACH ONE HAS ITS OWN CLONE OF DICK CHENEY?
