Littleton, NH -- The world of campaign punditry was rocked by rumors of mass layoffs today, after a local resident managed to express the country's feelings about Mitt Romney in less than one second, without uttering a word.

I've just returned from a trip to the Midwest. The Republicans there are scared of Mitt Romney (because of his religion); they're psyched for Fred Thompson.
It's hard to know whether to label this (preference: Fred) as yet another proof of why we call them the "flyover states," or as "phew, the heartland," for not preferring Giuliani.
