Moron (as in "oxy-")

While on my recent roadtrip, I was in a parking lot, about to go into a drugstore to get my daily dose of traitorous, America-hating, terrorist-loving media.

I saw a guy in a T-shirt featuring a big American flag and some slogan so banal that it escapes memory. He got into his pickup truck.

A Toyota Tacoma.

Don't forget that Toyota and other Japanese automakers either have already or are in the process of building plants in the U.S.A. This gets around the import quotas because they now become domestic American-made autos rather than imports. So-called American cars have for a long time had differentials made in Hungary, tires made in France, electronics made in China or Korea (those little bitty buttons on the radios were made for tiny oriental fingers), engines made in Japan and who knows what else. True corporate headquarters are in the U.S., but they are hardly American made even if assembled somewhere in the U.S.from foreign parts. Still your redneck with the Tshirt probably doesn't think of this so your point is valid about the attitude.

You're entirely right, TC. In fact, I do appreciate the building of "foreign" cars here in the US, and often snicker at people who blindly insist on "buying American."

But the juxtaposition was too good to resist.
