I'd agree with most of them, but I'm not sure about devastated. Missing the plane to Cancun does reduce one to a state of helplessness and maybe even disorder. It might just be a creative and colorful way to express it. "Disappointed" doesn't have the same punch.
"Disappointed" is when you prefer chocolate ice cream and they are out and you have to take mocha. Missing a plane and ruining your vacation seems a little more than a disappointment. What word do you use, when you're more than just a little disappointed?
"Devastated" maybe over-used, but in the Cancun example I think it's appropriate.
How about "Bling" for a word to delete? These slang words do add color to the language, though. Do we want to take all the color out of the language in favor of highly literate speech? I ain't buyin it -- you dig?
