I am so NOT a geek. The only reason I'm laughing is because I couldn't even fathom the "clarification" on that second link (TechMount - Epoch Time).

You make a good point, Beth -- the test could fail in that non-geeks would find the sheer geekery itself amusing.

I myself have been saying "the Epoch" -- in the Unix sense -- for twenty or so years, so it's hard to remember how the rest of humanity might view this.
