No one would get my vote with such a campaign/message based on fear.
I've seen this video before - it's just as distasteful the second time.
Yes, this is an annoying commercial on several levels. It preys upon fears as you note. I'm also bothered by its attempt to disparage Obama by its obvious reference to the original "3am" ad, and the inanity of suggesting that the way that economic problems present is as a sudden and unexpected crisis. I would like my president to be more aware of the early warning signs of such problems.
