Looks like Michael Baroody won't become the new head of the Consumer Product Safety Commission after all. Yay!

bjkeefe said...: The obvious explanation is that the Democrats are perpetually skittish about the "soft" label, ever since Vietnam. They fear getting blamed for having lost the war, not supported the troops, you know the drill.

The cynical explanation is that they know W is bent on winning in Iraq (shhh, don't tell him that's not gonna happen), and they'd rather have him continue to screw up, to use the war against the Reps in 2008.
