There are some bloggers who are so good they sometimes make me think about going AFK permanently, since I despair of ever being a fraction as funny or sharp as them. Not so for Michael Bérubé, who is so much further beyond that the idea of comparing myself to him does not even cross my mind. And even if it did, it would be worth keeping this blog going just to link to him.
His latest post, "Time in a bottle," is just wonderful. You might take the time, first, to follow the link he gives early on, to an older post of his published on Crooked Timber, "Everybody wang chung tonight," that gives historical context. Which is kind of funny, because the theme, as you might have guessed from the song/post titles, is that nothing ever changes for those of the species H. Wingnutticus.
Anyway, go read. Latin jokes + L33t Sp34k! And much, much more!
