For the Record

Just posted a couple of comments on PWConservative, a blog with the tagline:

After Obama becomes President, All of us good people should move to Tanzania and elect Bush as our President for Life

Seems PWC is in a tizzy about the appearance of Eric Balfour in the "Yes I Can" music video. The really bad part, according to PWC, as noted by careful reader Jon Swift, is that Balfour has also appeared in Lie With Me, "One of the only modern films to contain unstimulated sexual material."

In case my comments get deleted, here's what I said:

Are you equally troubled by the support of George W. Bush by James Dale Guckert, aka Jeff Gannon?

Or that Mark Kulkis and Mary Carey paid $5000 to dine with the same president?

And what about frequent contributor to the RNC, Nicholas T. Boyias?

and:

I have another question: How did you recognize this guy in the first place?

Heh. That was fast. First comment already deleted. Also, "unstimulated" has been changed, possibly in reaction to another comment, by Amy:

It's 'unsimulated' sex, you reactionary Bozo!

Unstimulated sex -- that would be what you have with your wife.

Equating me with a racist organization is laughable, considering I am an American Indian, However this is a typical response of the far left supporters of obama, Unfortunately, you are the real racists. It was planned parenthoods original goal to exterminate the black population, Sen Byrd was in the KKK, obama's pastor is a racist, and 66% of Hispanics in VA Approve of Bush

I must not have gotten the latest edition of the wingnut codeword book, PWC. So tell me, how did I equate you with a racist organization?

i was filed under CCS

Don't know what CCS means to you, but on this blog, the label refers to CCs in an email-like sense; i.e., Carbon Copies.

I apologize for the confusion -- Blogger converts the labels to all uppercase.

Wait a second. That PW Conservative blog IS a joke right? It's so hard to tell on the interwebs. There's no way that's serious. Right? Tell me I'm right.

I'll let PWC answer for him- or herself, but if I had to guess, I'd say that the blog is dead serious. Sure scans that way to me.

Of course, we on the far left are often noted for our humorlessness.

If my opposition to Obama makes you label me a "wingnut" than by my estimates your support of Obama makes you "Far Left"

It's not your opposition to Obama, in and of itself, that caused me to assign the label. It's the way you phrase your opposition at the top of your blog, along with your attitude about Balfour, the way you characterize a woman's right to control her own body, your confusion of different times with the present, and your reliance upon WingNutDaily as a reference, among other things I noticed, that provoked me.

P.S. You are probably right, in the second part of your last comment. Compared to you, at least, I am far left. And proud of it.

Yes We Can.

Why are the democratic blogs afraid to comment on my story about the 5 legislators which are supporting genocide?

bjkeefe said...

Dunno. Maybe they haven't seen it? Why not supply a link?

brendan-I wish I shared your belief that Obama was as far left as I'd like him to be. Nonetheless, he's got a lot to offer, and I think he's the right person for America right now. We're going to get him into the White House no matter how many pwconservatives we have to ship to Tanzania. (I still have a hard time believing that this isn't a joke).

I don't think Obama is far-left. I was accepting the label for myself, only (not that I really think it's true, from a neutral point of view (not that I care how I'm labeled)). Sorry for not being more clear.

Here's the genocide link

As for obama being far-left, He makes Hillary Clinton look like Bob Marshall.
You'd practically have to be openly communist to be any more liberal

(Administrivia: Here is PWC's link linkified, since it looks like it gets truncated as displayed.)

Regarding Obama as a far-lefty: You're entitled to evaluate him along your own scale, PWC, and I probably accept that in some ways, particularly in the foreign policy arena, he's slightly less centrist than Clinton. Or at least, less hawkish.

However, I doubt very many people who self-identify as far leftists would agree with your characterization. Most liberals see Obama as fairly moderate. Some specific reasons why include his lack of a mandate in his health care plan, his unwillingness to commit to an immediate withdrawal from Iraq, his fairly open embrace of Christianity, his desire to seek cooperation with conservatives instead of conflict, and his hedging on any number of minor social issues. The merits of any of these stances aside, there is no doubt that almost all true far-lefties would think Obama could go a lot further to making them happy.

Either you haven't really thought about this in much detail, you think people who hold the example views I gave should be called something "worse" than "far-left," or you're being paranoid to think that he's talking a centrist game but will reveal his true colors upon assuming office. I suspect it's a little of all three.

More administrivia: I just changed the label CCS to CC (throughout this blog). I don't know why it didn't occur to me to do this before, but there it is.
