New Poll: Reacting to Ralph

Probably I'm the only person on the planet to have thought of polling on this question, right? Go over to the sidebar and vote!

Poll closes 3 March 2008, at 6:35 PM EST.

[Added] Just realized I didn't offer much of a choice for non-U.S. readers. Sorry about that. Please think in terms of a vote from the heart.

The results from the last poll (multiple selections were permitted):

Q: Which columnist(s) would you like to see banished from the NY Times OpEd page? Please prefer staleness to ideology as your criterion.

1. Maureen Dowd:   42%
2. Bob Herbert:   28%
2. Paul Krugman:   28%
4. Roger Cohen:   14%
4. Gail Collins:   14%
4. Nicholas D. Kristof:   14%
4. Frank Rich:   14%
4. I never read the NYT OpEds: 14%
9. David Brooks:   0%
9. Thomas L. Friedman:   0%
9. Keep them all!:   0%

Note I omitted Bill Kristol from the choices on purpose. Review the question.

Thanks for voting!

Hate the restrictions of multiple-choice questions? Please feel free to expand upon your vote in the Comments.

Jesus. It's a (3 vote) rout!
I'm not old enough to have any memories of Ralph Nader saving the day. I did grow up with the idea (and I believe it) that Ralph Nader was generally a force in public life that made a lot of good things happen.
I voted for Ralph Nader in 2000. I did this because I was living in California, where Gore could not possibly lose (and didn't), and I was significantly more naive/idealistic. Maybe I was just more/less cynical.
Either way, 2000 woke me the hell up to the EVERY.DAMNED.VOTE.COUNTS reality.
Since then? Nader can run in the Democratic primaries like Kucinich or he can shut his damned yapper.

I voted for Nader in the past as a protest against pro-war Kerry because I knew he couldn't win. But I don't like the fact that he didn't join the Green Party that ran him for President and does nothing for any party for three years and then at election time he crawls out of the woodwork to get his face in the paper. If he were an honorable person he'd try to get a third party started and work all year to get the party going. It's like a football player who doesn't practice all year and only wants to play in the Superbowl. Nader won't run as a democrat or any other party because he's only for himself. Gag, puke. I think the Greens only ran him because they thought he might draw enough votes to get them qualified for some federal funds in the next go round. I doubt they'll put him on their ticket this time and by himself he won't raise any money or get enough signatures to qualify for getting on the ballot. He just wants to get on Meet the Press and Hardball and similar shows at election time so he can spout his views and get his face out there. Piss on any party that might support him. It's all about Ralph.
