Five years ago, Fareed Zakaria was given a "Hubert Humphrey First Amendment Freedoms Prize" by the Anti-Defamation League. In an open letter published a couple of days ago on Newsweek's site, he says, in part:
I cannot in good conscience hold onto the award or the honorarium that came with it and am returning both.
By the way? That honorarium, Benen says, was $10,000. This is confirmed by Zakaria's related column.
