The puzzling thing is that the Weekly Standard actually publishes some interesting things. (Even though I'm a liberal, I'm a subsciber.) Matt Labash's feature pieces are generally uniformly superb, Continetti's pretty good, and Andrew Ferguson's cultural-cum-political criticism is excellent. A very good books section too.
Strange that both of the editors, Barnes & Kristol, seem to be such dim bulbs.

That's interesting, Nikki. I didn't know that about the WS, that it had some redeeming features.
