Intriguing point. Does it hold for gerunds also or only for past participles? The OED gives "arousing interest" as a second definition. Seems like a pretty fine distinction when there are so many other issues of style to fuss about.-- (I meant to say "about which to fuss.")
That's a good question. So, you're suggesting that Shawn would not have allowed I was intrigued, to mean I was fascinated, either?
I have heard that he was quite the fussbudget.
I don't know how he felt your latter point, but I think you know that I believe a preposition is a perfectly acceptable word to end a sentence with.
Is the "o" in "amok" also deliberate? (Sorry, couldn't resist...)
