Frank Gaffney outdoes himself

Even considering that it's coming from a mind that sees crescents everywhere, this reaction to the Libya situation is just amazing:

What I find particularly concerning is the prospect that what we might call the Qaddafi Precedent will be used in the not-to-distant future to justify and threaten the use of U.S. military forces against an American ally: Israel.

Gaffney's imagination is as fertile as two families of Duggars.

And he doesn't even realize he's equating Israel's actions w/ Qaddafi's.

Dense as a Duggar too.

Heh, yes.

However, it will never in a million years occur to anyone for whom he writes to make that connection. Of course they predict that the Muslin Obama will, but that's central to their point.

Gaffney is not equating Israel's actions to Qaddafi's. Gaffney is anticipating Arab nations making that equation. There's a fairly substantial difference.

His point is well taken. Whether the scenario he describes manifests or not, the point is to question the "responsibility to protect" principle and its effect upon national sovereignty.
