Glenn Greenwald, and digby, via blockquote, make the case that Sarah Palin's refusal to talk to the press isn't going to play out the way a lot of us hope.
Glenn scorns the recent semi-tough talk coming from some in the MSM and predicts that when Palin finally does deign to do an interview or two, it'll be good for nothing except further inflating her image.

I can't call it a "rope-a-dope" strategy, because I don't think that's why they are holding her back. But we can confidently call it the rope-a-dope effect, because that's what's going to happen: Holding her back from the press for two weeks will build the suspense for her super-star return.
I think the trick here is that the GOP is convincing American people that we are going to have our own royal family. We are starting with Lady Sarah...
And we know how everybody loves those British traditions.
T: An interesting thought. But I think you're ignoring the obvious first reason: she cannot possibly be expected to field real questions at this point. I don't say this as a comment on her intelligence, just that she hasn't spent any time thinking about these things.
But yeah, as a second reason, yours works.
O: Maybe. There has long been an unhealthy fascination with royalty on the part of a lot of Americans.
But really, it's all about celebrity now.
I could be persuaded that the two are effectively the same, especially as they manifest in a certain sort of person's mind.
