Out of concern for your sensitivities, I will not show the pictures taken shortly afterwards. I do wonder who recovered the cameras, though.

Is that sign for real? Who would even consider molesting an alligator??
Or perhaps I'm thinking of the word "molest" in its most negative, depraved form as opposed to some idiot smacking an alligator with a stick or something.

BTW, I'm following your election coverage with interest but as a Canadian feel out of my depth leaving comments. But, trust me, the primaries make front page news in Toronto. Gotta be aware of what's happening in the political world of our neighbour to the south!

Hi, Beth:

I think your second guess is right, but I am delighted to hear that your first instinct is to keep your mind firmly in the gutter, where it belongs.

There is, however, no accounting for the tastes of Floridians, as a quick review of Carl Hiaasen's work will remind.

Please do not feel inhibited in making comments on our electoral process. For one thing, the choice we Americans make affects the whole world, for better or for worse, so you're certainly entitled to some say. For another, an outsider can often bring a useful perspective. And for a third, it's not like we can't make plenty of boneheaded commentary on our own -- your worst will hardly win any awards.

But thanks for letting me know you're reading.
