Is There a Condo on Elba Available For Immediate Occupancy?

Formerly likable former President speaks:

He said: "Suppose for example you're a voter. And you've got candidate X and candidate Y. Candidate X agrees with you on everything, but you don't think that person can deliver on anything. Candidate Y disagrees with you on half the issues, but you believe that on the other half, the candidate will be able to deliver. For whom would you vote?"

Then, perhaps mindful of how his off-the-cuff remarks might be taken, Clinton added after a pause: "This has nothing to do with what's going on now."

That was yesterday afternoon. Maybe he's just trying to pump up more attention for his speech tonight? Or is he really that stupid? Or bitter?

Here goes Evo, Psychologist:

Watching his reactions to speeches last night, including his wife's, I'm going to say he'll 'surprise' everyone with a strong endorsement for Obama (although, like Hillary, he won't go into all the reasons Obama will be great, but why we can't let McCain win).

It will be much ado about nothing, the DNC will breath a sigh of relief, Obama will have a successful convention. The question is how hard they will batter the GOP and McCain from this week forward. Are they going to fight (like Exterminator says) as "gentlemen", or will they get down and dirty and win the stinking election. Because that's what you have to do. McCain will do it. If only one guy does it, then only the other guy gets "painted". The Democrats need to paint McCain - and it's not hard to do. The material is all there. The question is whether they have what it takes to do it.

Awesome prediction, John.

Did you think he and the others hit McCain hard enough last night?

First of all, I think I missed the target. Bill was much more exuding of praise than I expected. Sure he talked a lot about how great things were under him (compared to W) but that's to be expected. They are, after all, The Clintons! But he used the name Obama a lot more than I thought he would. The spirit of my prediction was pretty much on target - Clinton brings the party together.

I liked SOME of the attacks on McCain, but I sure hope they go much further in coming weeks. I don't expect Obama to hit at McCain nearly as hard as Kerry, Clinton and Biden did. He might be looking to attack from the ranks while keeping his own rhetoric on a higher plane.

My guess is he'll tell us all the things he'll do differently than what we've seen for 8 years and allow the listener to make the connection to McSame. "If you were happy with Bush, you'll be happy with McCain" without those words.

Okay, so you're 1 for 2 on convention predictions. ;^)

In fairness, I was surprised -- pleasantly surprised, mind you -- but surprised at the directness of Obama's attacks.
