And Speaking of People Who Can't Answer Questions

Wow. Suddenly it's not so hard to see why John McCain hasn't been giving interviews lately either. You know when a guy has to tell you that he's giving you "straight talk," even he knows how embarrassing it's getting.

(Sorry, the embedded video doesn't work. You'll have to follow the link to watch.)

Everyone's already laughing at McCain's claim that Palin was "right on Iraq" and "Obama was wrong," not to mention his saying she "knows more about energy than probably anyone else in the United States of America."

Via Turn Main Blue, here are some more lies "factual misstatements" from John McCain in that interview, documented by Seth Colter Walls on HuffPo.

And here's one I caught: that pipeline deal McCain tries to present as a fait accompli?

Yup. Another lie.

Now that I think about it, I'm wondering if McCain thought he could just bullshit his way through an interview with a local reporter, and didn't realize how quickly the interview would get out onto the Internet. Seriously. That was eight of the most terrible minutes I've ever seen from any politician. How many times did he just robotically intone "reform?" How many times did he not answer a question but just say, "Obama wrong?"

I can imagine why someone would want to vote against Obama, but I cannot imagine anyone wanting to vote for McCain, especially after seeing that.

Pretty good job by WCSH's Rob Caldwell. He could have followed up a bit better, and not let McCain get away with his usual mumbling nasal platitudes and disconnected phrases for so long, but he had good starting questions.
