While I Was Away

Coming back after my recent time away from the Internets, I am amazed at how much more nasty the Obama-haters have managed to become. Just dipping my toe back in this morning, I cannot believe, even given the past eight years of Rovian ratfucking, how low McCain, Palin, the RNC, and their peripheral "independent" groups have been willing to go. (Nor can I believe how many people are still willing to make "that's-not-the-real-McCain" excuses, but that's another rant.)

I've already collected about nine hundred links, concerning hate mailings, robocalls, disenfranchisement, appeals to thugs to intimidate voters, etc., etc., etc., which I'll spare you until I've had a chance to distill them a bit and get a better sense of just how far behind I am. While we're waiting for that to happen, I think it's worth reposting a great bumper sticker that I first came across stole from slag in February (and now happily pimp):

SomeOfNothing: HOPE KICKS FEAR'S ASS

It's going to be an ugly eighteen more days. Keep your chin up. We own the high ground. All we have to do is keep working to hold it.

We will settle for nothing less than a landslide.
