Dennis Kucinich at the
2008 Democratic National Convention

He's a figure of fun to a lot of people, me included, but I thought he did a good job here. Starting at about 2:26, he really hits his stride. Sure, people in the crowd were laughing, but he had them by the end. Nice job, DK.

P.S. Who caught the intro music? Ohio Players, for the Congressman from Ohio, I expect. Count on the wingnuts obsessing over its title though: "Love Rollercoaster."

Very good passionate speech. Too bad it was buried in the middle of the day.

What are those assholes in the party thinking? That should have been the keynote.

I'm note sure there's enough oxygen in Denver for DK to have kept that up for the length of a keynote address, but I do take your point.

Especially after just watching Warner speak. O. M. G. To think that this guy was considered a top contender for president, once upon a time.

That Kucinich was one of those who refused to mention "god" or "faith" somewhere in his speech?

To think that this guy was considered a top contender for president, once upon a time.

Brendan, remember many months ago when you posted a quiz that would tell you which candidate you were most closely aligned with? I know the answer for me was "Dennis Kucinich". I just knew it was hopeless.

I note that there have been several DNC speakers already who have neglected to say "God Bless the United States of America" at the end of their speeches. Baby steps.

Re: preferring DK: IIRC, I think that quiz told me Mike Gravel was my man. Or maybe it was Chris Dodd. So I had some dubiousness about the comprehensiveness.

O bah mah.

Yeah, that was a good chorus line, wasn't it?
