I'll stick to what I said after the first debate. He doesn't make eye contact with Obama because he knows from personal experience that he can't trust himself to go off. He has probably trained himself not to look an opponent in the eye for this reason. Imagine being so angry that you can't trust yourself to look at a fellow human being when having a heated discussion.
